"My experience in Iceland was life-changing. Our group was close-knit by the end of our two weeks and we had learned an incredible amount about a culture that has been rooted in the same volcanically active island for 1100 years. Watch out for the elves!" Molly Bloom, class of 08. To read Molly's essay on her experience in Iceland, please click here.
"I would like to say that I throughly enjoyed studying and vacationing in this country. It is great that I've been given the opportunity to explore such a unique culture and had the time to discover all the facets to this ancient society. It has been an enriching experience that I will never forget." Bill Amrhein, class of 08
"Visiting Iceland with the CU Study Abroad Program was one of the best experiences of my college career, and will be one of my most treasured memories in life. Not only is Iceland a fascinating country with a fascinating past, it's a beautiful and exciting place to visit! I recommend this program to all my friends!" Beth Billington, class of 08.
". . . the gates to history opened a dimly lit room greeted us with the story of Sigurd Fafnir's Bane engraved upon the floor. I knew this would be great, and as we tentatively stepped into this cave of knowledge, we gazed around with pupils dilated by awe. We coursed through a room filled with bright pictures and images from the scraps of our past. One room further and on velvet pedestals stood the sagas, and other manuscripts slowly resisting the elements, surviving close to 10x as long as any person I have ever met. Scrawled lines ran along in cryptic lines telling stories old as time. Beauty beyond recognition shone forth from those dying pages." Kyle Waldrop, class of 08
