CU in Reykjavík, Iceland
Start planning now to join us in summer 2012!
A dynamic summer intensive offered by the Head of Nordic Studies at CU, Dr. Helga Luthers, a native of Iceland, through the Study Abroad office at the University of Colorado at Boulder. If you are looking for a unique experience in exciting setting you have found it. 13 days packed with activities, yet leaving you time to do your own thing. With the course starting July 24 and ending August 5, you will have the opportunity to work, hold an internship or finish A or C term and still have time for additional travel. Don't forget that Iceland is the perfect stopover between the US and Europe.
Tentaive schedule includes a visit to deCODE Genetics,* a global leader in genetic research and gene discovery; a day trip to Svartsengi, a geothermal resource park where we'll enjoy a luxurious soak in the Blue Lagoo
n; a meeting with the entrepreneurs at CCP, the creators of EVE Online, a massive multiplayer game and the world’s largest game universe; a day spent at the self-sustainable community at Sólheimar; and a super truck excursion through Iceland's back-country, including stops at Thingvellir, the spectacular waterfall of Gullfoss, Geysir and the surrounding hot springs, and finally an unearthly hike on the glacier of Langjokull.
Even with all these activities, this program is still one of CU's most affordable summer programs. Its small size guarantees you individual attention and personalized experience, and its location offers a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. What better way to end your summer?!
